Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama has been acknowledged as one of the most important living artists to come out of Japan. Multi-disciplinary artist whose work notably include sculptures, installations, painting, performances, and poetry, she is mostly associated with conceptual art, but also more widely linked to movements such as feminism, surrealism, and pop art.

Kusama began drawing pictures of pumpkins in
elementary school and created artworks she saw from hallucinations, works which would later define her career.

We are currently working on the content of the artists’ pages. Please forgive our appearance while we are doing so. Those sections will be regularly updated.
