From the collection of Linda Hodes, a member of the Martha Graham Dance Company (1953 – 1964) and considered by many to be the dancer who most inhabited the spirit of Graham herself. Before her death in 1991, Graham selected Hodes as one of her successors. Hodes later said that she considered Graham “the person who is closest to me outside of my children.” The Warhol prints were a gift from Halston, who designed costumes for the Graham Company. Hodes cherished her Warhol prints all throughout her life.
